This summer, I had the opportunity to work at Level5 Strategy as a Co-op Analyst. Over the course of the four-month internship, it proved to be an incredibly rewarding experience. Looking back, there were many benefits, but a few stand out in particular.
At Level5 Strategy, I had the opportunity to work on multiple projects across different industries simultaneously. I began my term by joining a strategic planning project for a large national sporting organization. Shortly afterward, I became involved in an engagement with a major energy and utilities company, assisting with the firm-wide implementation of new field technology. These are just two examples of the diverse project types I was part of, which provided me with hands-on experience in understanding how consulting projects are structured and delivered. Moreover, I gained valuable insights into the unique challenges and dynamics of various industries.
Working on these projects also allowed me to collaborate with different Level5 team members, each with their own background and skill set. This exposure proved to be immensely valuable, as it enabled me to learn from a variety of approaches and methodologies. Being early in my career, I was able to absorb tips and best practices from each individual, broadening my expertise and shaping me into a more well-rounded consultant.
A defining aspect of my time at Level5 was the firm’s culture. All employees are encouraged to take initiative and advocate for their interests. By expressing curiosity and enthusiasm, I found that I could secure opportunities on projects that genuinely excited me. This approach allowed me to dive deeper into areas I was passionate about, making my work even more fulfilling and enriching my overall experience.
Level5 also cultivates an engaging social atmosphere that made my co-op term truly memorable. Beyond the daily work, the firm hosts events that strengthen team bonds and build relationships beyond the office. During my term, I had the chance to participate in a car rally scavenger hunt to Niagara-on-the-Lake, a barbecue at the RCYC, a karaoke night, and a Blue Jays game. This blend of challenging work and vibrant social culture made Level5 an exceptional place for both professional and personal growth.
After four months of valuable experiences and memorable moments, my summer at Level5 came to a rewarding close. I strongly encourage other students seeking a co-op position to consider Level5 Strategy.
